Representatives of BIOPOLINEX took part in the NUTECH conference, as part of which the Accelerator Research and Innovation for European Science and Sociation - ARIES –Kraków project meeting was held on September 13-14, 2017. The ARIES project aims to develop a European particle accelerator infrastructure. The project will take more than four years to improve the efficiency, availability and sustainability of particle accelerators, transfer the benefits of technology to society, and enlarge and integrate the accelerator community in Europe. Particle accelerators are the basic and unique tools for exploring and understanding the universe. Beyond this fundamental role accelerators are used in new technologies being developed in such fields as: life sciences, imaging and treatment in medicine, materials sciences, energy research and even in the area of ​​cultural heritage. The topic of the meeting was the industrial and social application of particle accelerators. The meeting presented among others, the technology of using fast electron accelerator together with a biogas plant in sewage treatment plants to use the energy and fertilizing potential of sewage sludge. This technology was developed jointly by the Institute of Nuclear Chemistry and Technology and the Biopolinex Company.
